Tour of the Lilienthal Estate in Hillsborough
Come join the Garden Club for a tour of the Lilienthal Estate, maintained by the family for 100 years on its original 3 acres with dozens of California bay, oak, and redwood trees.
In the 1950s, the last residents, Terry and Jesse Lilienthal, created a 100,000 gallon koi pond with waterfalls and an arched stone bridge with the help of local Japanese gardeners.
The house dates from the turn of the 20th century and retains much of its original design and size.
Our hostess, Tirzah Lassahn, will give us a tour, and we will be free to wander the gardens and house and eat our picnic lunch. Tirzah was a good friend of the late owner, Terry Lilienthal, and is the executor of her estate.
The property is vacant and in the process of being donated to the City of Hillsborough. This may be your last chance for a long time to visit it, and the City will probably make some changes.
Cost: $27 per person plus $20 for an optional picnic lunch
You are welcome to bring guests paying the same per person.
RSVP: Courtney Clarkson, event organizer
Rsvp to Courtney after you have made your payment to the Garden Club. Let her know what type of sandwich you want, either turkey or vegetarian. Payment must be RECEIVED by July 11th.
